Introduction
Ministry of Health of the
People's Republic of China is established as a department under the
State Council responsible for the administration of China’s health
care services.
The main responsibilities of the Ministry include setting guidelines
for health-related policies and principles, drafting health-related
laws and regulations, making development planning and strategic
target of China’s health cause, establishing and supervising the
implementation of specifications and hygienic standard, putting
forward regional health planning, make overall planning and
coordinate the distribution of national health care resources,
conducting national health education and making prevention program
against serious diseases. It is also responsible for guiding the
reform of medical institutions, drafting and supervising the
implementation of standards for the professional practice of medical
personnel and for medical treatment and service, conducting key
medical scientific research and spreading medical science and
technology achievements as well as supervising the State
Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
