Introduction
National Population and Family Planning Commission of People’s Republic of China is established as a department under the State Council responsible for the administration of China’s family planning. The main responsibilities of the ministry are: working out drafts of laws and regulations and policy provisions for population and family planning work; working out drafts of national population development plans; putting forward policy proposals on the coordinated and sustainable development between population and economy, society, resources and environment; carrying out researches on population development strategies; engage in implementing medium and long-term plans, annual plans and institutional development plans of the national population and family planning program.	国家人口和计划生育委员会是主管计划生育工作的国务院组成部门。　　　主要负责拟定计划生育工作的方针、政策，组织起草人口与计划生育的法律、法规草案，协助有关部门制定相关的社会经济政策，推动人口与计划生育工作的综合治理，研究中国人口发展战略，根据国务院确定的人口控制目标，制定全国计划生育中长期规划和年度计划。
