Meng Jianzhu appointed head of CPC Political and Legal Affairs Commission

BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has appointed Meng Jianzhu as secretary of its Commission for Political and Legal Affairs, replacing Zhou Yongkang.

Meng, born in July 1947, is currently a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, a state councilor, and minister of public security.
