Two sessions to bring more reform bonus

(People's Daily Online)

“Reform bonus is the greatest bonus for China,” Guangming Daily uses this sentence as the title of a full-page report on March 4. Reform is definitely a key move in China’s development. The “two sessions” is an important occasion for people to participate in the administration, discussion and determination of state affairs. Reform also becomes a key word in the media coverage of the annual political sessions.

If China’s previous development relied on its large population, abundant resources as well as adventurous opening-up, now confronting a rare opportunity for development and complex problems, China needs to gain bonus from institutional reform.

The increasing international perspectives and figures in the coverage of the “two sessions” demonstrates that China cannot be separated from the world in its development and vice versa. China’s reform is not only a domestic affair but also an event with international influence. And the “two sessions” with hot discussions on reform-related topics have also gained a world-wide significance.

“China should dare to ‘crack a hard nut’ in reform,” said Hong Kong based newspaper Takungpao. Within one decade China has made the progresses that may take others countries a century to achieve. With 1.3 billion people, China has improved an unprecedented social system and now its reform has entered a deep-water zone with tougher issues to be overcome.

General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping once stressed that there is dialectical and unified relationship between advancing cautiously and strengthening top-level design. Many media keep a close eye to the concrete policies of China’s cautious exploration and move.

The Reform and Opening-up is the cause of all of Chinese people. A shareable reform needs our joint efforts. As an indispensable link of China’s political life, the “two sessions” have become an important platform by which the public can participate in and give advice to China’s reform.
