Official urges to turn policies into benefits for people

BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Senior leader Liu Yunshan on Saturday urged all officials to put the central authorities' decisions and policies into concrete actions and turn them into tangible benefits for the people.

Liu, a Standing Committee member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Political Bureau, made the remarks while inspecting the Tianjin municipality from March 28 to 29.

The CPC's 18th National Congress reaffirmed China's future national goals last year, and the annual parliament sessions just concluded earlier this March also made detailed arrangements for China's economic and social development, said Liu.

"Now the key task is to implement these goals and decisions," said Liu.

"Without implementation, any goals, no matter how beautiful they are, will come to nothing," he added.

He urged officials to go deep among the masses, listen to the people's true voice and turn the policies into ways of solving the people's actual problems.

Liu said that good work styles are fundamental to putting policies into practise, urging officials to follow the eight requirements meted out by the new leadership to reject extravagance and bust formalism and bureaucracy.
