BEIJING, Oct. 1 -- Senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Yunshan has urged officials to strictly and efficiently carry out a campaign to boost ties between CPC officials, members and the people.
Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said at a group meeting on Monday that officials should have thorough self-examination over undesirable work styles and conduct criticisms and self-criticisms to boost unity.
China's leaders launched a one-year "mass-line" campaign in June to boost ties between CPC officials and the people, while cleaning up four undesirable work styles -- formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance.
Officials are told to search for the root cause of their problems and constantly review the implementation of the "mass-line" campaign.
Liu, also team leader of the "mass-line" campaign, urged officials to work out specific measures to rectify their problems and ensure that the campaign will not remain a mere formality.
