| The first batch of Chinese soldiers arrives in Islamabad yesterday to take part in joint military exercises with the Pakistan army. |
The military exercises which begin today will involve 260 soldiers from China and 230 of their Pakistan counterparts. The Pakistan military says the exercises will include techniques and procedures involved in low-intensity conflict environments. The joint military drills, spread over two weeks, are aimed at the mutual exchange of experience and information through a broad training program in real time. This will be the fourth time the two militaries have collaborated in drills aimed at combating terrorist threats.
