China seeks higher-educated youth for army

BEIJING - China will draft more well-educated young people into the army, according to a national conscription tele-conference held on Wednesday.

According to the conference, China aims to draft more young people with high school diploma and above. Priority will be given to the draft of college graduates and students. Young people with high degrees and fresh college graduates will be preferred in the conscription.

The winter season drafting will last from November 1 to December 31. Online application has already been opened to the public.
