On the first day of the 47th World Military Shooting Championship, Wan Xiangyan, Shao Zhongyue and Gao Hui from the delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) won the gold in female 50-meter rifle three-position team competition. This was also the first gold medal of the 47th World Military Shooting Championship. The Polish team and German team won silver and bronze respectively.
Wan Xiangyan has won several team or individual champions in the previous World Military Shooting Championships since 2004.
The men pistol center-fire team competition also began on December 3, 2012 and the its gold medal winners will come out on November 4, so will the woman 50-meter rifle three-position individual champion.
