A joint maneuver taskforce under the South Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) patrolled the Meiji Reef, a fishing area and shelter for Chinese fishermen on March 27, 2013.

The joint maneuver taskforce extended regards to other navy and fishery administration ships that have been conducting regular patrols in the waters surrounding the reef. When they visited the fishery administration vessel 45001, the captain of the vessel briefed them on the vessel's law enforcement efforts.
