The far-sea training taskforce under the East Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted an offence-and-defense drill in the waters of the west Pacific Ocean on May 11, 2013. They completed various training subjects, such as the air defense, anti-submarine and replenishment. The training effectively improved the combat effectiveness of the troops.
