CHELYABINSK, Russia, Aug. 6 (ChinaMil) --Russian and Chinese pilots started yesterday the aerial part of the Peace Mission2013 joint anti-terrorism military exercise in Chelyabinsk of Russia, according to a report by RIA Novosti news agency.
According to the plan of the exercise, pilots of the air force under the Russia's Central Military Region and the Russian air defense force carried out drills with pilots from the Shenyang Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) at the Chebarkul combined training range on August 5. The subjects of the drills included familiarization with the aerial space, study of the flight environments, and field reconnaissance.
The report also mentioned that the emphasis of the air drills for the coming week will be put on the use of air raid weapons. JH-7 fighter bombers, Z-9 multi-purpose helicopters, and Mi-171 helicopters from the Chinese side as well as the Su-24 fighter bombers, Mi-8 helicopters, and Mi-24 helicopters from the Russian side will show up together in the joint air drills.
