China's U8E unmanned helicopter makes debut at air show abroad

DUBAI, November 19 (ChinaMil) -- China's U8E-type unmanned helicopter was showcased on November 17, 2013 at the 13th Dubai Air Show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This is the first time for the U8E-type unmanned helicopter to be exhibited at an air show abroad. The U8E-type unmanned helicopter is a 200-kilogram-class unmanned helicopter independently developed by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

The U8E-type unmanned helicopter, which can carry out missions including reconnaissance, monitoring, spotting and target positioning during day and night under severe weather conditions, is a versatile unmanned aircraft for various applications and can play important roles in military and civilian tasks, according to a press release by the AVIC on November 17, 2013.

In addition, the Pakistan's three "Fierce-Dragon" fighters, jointly developed by China and Pakistan, were also exhibited in the air show and will put on wonderful flight shows.

To support the Pakistani Air Force's ground exhibition of the "Fierce-Dragon" fighters, the AVIC also brought models of SD10A missile, PL5EII missile, LS6-500/250/100, LT-2 guided bomb and WMD-7 targeting pod for the ground exhibition.

The AVIC will carry out high-level contacts and dialogues with its partners and push forward its strategic cooperation and key projects by using the air show as an exchange platform.
