The 1911 Revolution, or Xinhai Revolution, which began on Oct. 10, 1911 and led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founder of the Kuomintang, ended one of the world's longest periods of autocratic rule by toppling the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and established Asia's first republic government.
