Lost phones call for plan

(Global Times)

Guyiyuan Garden said park authorities are looking into ways to prevent visitors from dropping their mobile phones in waterways running through the park, after 20 cellphones were found during preparation work that took place over the weekend for the 2012 National Lotus Flowers Exhibition in July.

The Jiading district park administrator estimated that the phones went missing over the past decade.

No living organisms were found near the phones; the batteries inside the mobiles had leaked harmful materials to surrounding areas.
