BEIJING, March 7 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday will announce a total of 60 finalists in a national campaign designed to select and honor those known for being ready to take up the cudgels for a just cause.
Accounts of the finalists' exemplary deeds will be made public on people.com.cn and xinhuanet.com, and the public can vote for them from Thursday until April 8 on www.cjyyw.com, according to an official statement issued Wednesday.
The list of winners will be decided after considering the results of the public vote and that of a vote by the campaign's organizing committee, the statement said.
Co-organized by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Office of the Central Committee for the Comprehensive Management of Public Security, and the China Foundation for Justice and Courage, along with other organizations, the campaign has been the 11th of its kind over the years.
The move came as public concern over moral quandaries has continued to surge in China, which is struggling through a drastic social transition process.
