Cockroach found in Wal-Mart cooked chicken

Mr. Lin, a senior high school teacher in Huizhou, southeastern China's Guangdong province, come to Shenzhen for work during the summer vacation. He spent 9.9 yuan to buy a cooked chicken for lunch at Wal-Mart Supercenter Shenzhen Honey Lake Branch on July 5.

After he ate half of the chicken with zest at the table outside the store and began to tear the packaging of the other part, he found a black object in the chicken bottom. To his surprise, it is a dead cockroach! Its front body has got into the chicken ass, leaving the back part and the outstretched legs.

"If you would eat the rest of the chicken, I do not ask for compensation!" Mr. Lin told the staff of the Wal-Mart store in Shenzhen. Lin required a compensation for moral damage of 1,000 yuan .

The staff member acknowledged it is the supermarket's duty and told Lin to return the chicken and compensate him twice the money (9.9 yuan) he spent on the chicken.

But Lin refused. At last the store manager said they would compensate at most 10 times the price of the chicken (99 yuan). Mr. Lin did not agree and took the chicken away.

"Compensation is a must, but it will be reasonable and legitimate... We will call the customer tomorrow and negotiate with him again and will meet the customer's needs as possible as we can, " said an Wal-Mart official.
