THE suspect who allegedly set fire to a bus in Beijing on Saturday was caught by police yesterday evening.
The suspect set the No. 9 bus on fire at 5:15pm when it was at the Jintai Road in Chaoyang District. The driver immediately opened the rear door and evacuated all passengers, Beijing police said on its official microblog yesterday.
The driver and the conductor put out the fire with extinguishers. No one was injured and the bus was partly damaged.
After investigation, police confirmed the fire was arson.
The suspect was detained 9:30pm last night and the probe is going on.
