For more on China’s underground water pollution we’re joined on the phone by Mr. Ma Jun, director of the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Q1: We know that the investigation in Shandong province has not come to a conclusion yet but pollution of underground water has been widely spotted in many areas in China. According to your observations, how bad is the situation so far?
Q2: It seems that the government has always been good at making laws on paper, yet poor enforcement has again and again stirred public anger. Why is it so hard to tighten the grip of law enforcement?
