A well-educated man who allegedly kept a young woman in a dog cage as a sex slave is wanted by police in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, after she escaped.

The man surnamed Chen, who had studied in Japan, was said to get to know the victim on the Internet, and kept her as sex slave after she flew to Shenzhen to meet him, Nanfang Daily newspaper reported today. The report also said he raped the woman.

Chen locked her up in a dog cage in a residential complex basement in Longgang District for several days, police told the newspaper.

She escaped on February 28. Neighbors were cited as saying they heard cries for help and the woman was found with her hands and feet bound with iron chains.

Police didn't disclose any other details, the paper reported.
