Tattoo artist is a new occupation in China in recent years. Even though tattooing has been practiced for centuries in many cultures, tattoos are not accepted by some Chinese due to our traditions. But with more people seeking to be unique and individual or some just wishing to find an inspiration though getting one, tattoos have become more popular and tattoo artists in China have potential development.
The price of a tattoo is 300 yuan at least, and some famous tattoo artists' fees are based on the time they spend working on it, which is about 1500 yuan per hour. People have tattoos for a variety of reasons: a father let his son suffering from a mental problem have name and phone number tattooed on his arm in case he or she gets lost, young lovers want to have matching tattoos, and some adults tattoo the names of their kids in different styles, etc.
The following photos show tattoo artist Zhang Xu working on his studio and his tattooing works.
