Drug addict shot dead resisting arrest in Huizhou

A drug addict was shot dead when he resisted arrest and used a flick-knife to attack police in Huizhou city, Guangdong province, on Sunday night, police said on Monday.

The 26-year-old man, surnamed Wu who came from Chongqing, together with another man and three women were taking drugs in a hotel room in Huizhou’s Huicheng district when police, who received reports from local people, arrived on the scene at 9:30 pm.

Wu escaped but refused to stop when police fired a warning shot, and used a flick-knife to attack police when officers chased him.

An officer shot Wu dead after a 40-meter chase in the city’s downtown area. No police were injured.
