Dog owner sues for 'rape'

A dog owner is suing another owner claiming that her female dog was "raped." She is asking from 100,000 yuan (US$16,301) in compensation for the male dog's owners.

Media reports said the dogs were not on a leash in a residential compound in south China's Guangzhou when the male became attracted to the female. The dog owner who is suing said her dog was a pure breed and extremely valuable as long as it remained a virgin.

Police say there has been no decision on compensation yet as it was not possible to tell if the dog had been raped or not. However, the male dog has been neutered.
