China launches level two emergency response to heat

The temperature in most parts of Beijing climbed as high as 34 degrees Celsius Tuesday afternoon. The China Meteorological Administration has launched a level two emergency response to heat for the first time this year on Tuesday, covering regions including east China's Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Jiangxi,central China's Hunan and Hubei, south China's Fujian, and Shanghai and Chongqing municipalities.
