A renovated ferry nicknamed "Shanghai Duck" makes its debut this morning at the Jinling Road Dock on the Bund. The designer said the local "duck" was inspired by the design of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, whose giant duck became a hit floating in the waters of Hong Kong several months ago. The local version, with a feathered duck head and roasted body, is part of the government-backed Bund Art Project which started today. The "duck ferry" will have local poets and musicians performing onboard and tourists are also welcome to join in, the organizer said. The local "duck" has drawn some criticism over its design since its photo was released online today. --Zhang Suoqing
