During the rainy season, the road from Nalong community of Chenping village to Chenping Primary school in Teng county, southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was submerged by the flood water. The students had to wade in the water to go to school. The rainy season usually lasts for two or three months in the county. The situation has been going on for 30 years since 1970s.

For safety reasons, the school asked the children to study at home during the period. However, worrying of their academic performance, the children insisted going to school every day. The local government also proposed to set up a temporary teaching point at Nalong community, but most of parents and students refused the proposal, because they didn't trust the quality of teaching at the temporary teaching point.
