Cleavage not damaging to mental health: mayor

A small city mayor from East China's Jiangsu Province has rebuffed a Net user who complained to him that his mental health had been damaged by an eye-catching advert prominently featuring the cleavage of Taiwan model and actress Lin Chi-ling.

As a result of seeing the poster, his school test results had declined, wrote Net user "Pupil" allegedly from "Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province" to the mayor of Taizhou.

The advertising had not violated any advertising laws of China, and did not harm the mental or physical health of minors, the mayor's office replied online on Tuesday.

In response, a Sina microblogger Tweeted the model @Lin Chi-ling suggesting, "If you can, wear more."

Some Net users doubted if a real pupil had really written the complaint, while others encouraged the writer to generally study harder and try to ignore anything with too many curves.

"Pupil" should stop "needlessly abusing himself," suggested another Net user.
