Senior Chinese official meets Saudi Arabian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Wang Gang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Tuesday met with Prince Abdul-Aziz, Saudi Arabian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Wang, who is also vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said during the meeting that China and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed sound development in bilateral relations since the two countries established diplomatic relations.

He noted that Prince Abdul-Aziz came to China to host the International Translation Prize, which reflects Saudi Arabia's attention toward developing relations with China.

"China regards Saudi Arabia as a reliable friend and a good partner," Wang said, adding that China is willing to work with Saudi Arabia to strengthen political trust, broaden cooperation and enrich social exchanges in order to promote China-Saudi Arabia relations to a higher level.

Abdul-Aziz said Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to developing its relations with China and is ready to boost cooperation between both countries.
