UN recognizes Chinese peacekeepers in Sudan

On Oct. 26, an award ceremony for China's fifth peacekeeping force to the Darfur region of Sudan was held at the U.N. super camp in Darfur.

All 315 soldiers and officers as well as three military personnel conducting peacekeeping operations in Darfur was awarded Peace Medal of Honor by the United Nations.

China's peacekeeping forces won the "Special Contribution Award," which became the only awarded detachment from 13 peace-keeping detachments in Darfur war zone of Sudan.
