BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) - China and Malaysia on Tuesday agreed to advance their military ties of friendly cooperation during a meeting between Guo Boxiong, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, and Malaysian Defense Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Hailing the traditional friendship and close contact between the two countries, Guo said China and Malaysia are good neighbors, friends and partners.
"The two countries' strategic partnership of cooperation has enjoyed continuous development and increasingly active communication at all levels," he said. "The two countries are facing critical phases in their respective development and should further enhance mutual trust as well as broaden cooperation under complicated international and regional environments so as to make joint efforts to realize a 'win-win' situation."
Guo said military relations between the two countries have enjoyed stable development and broadening communication.
"Strengthening cooperation and communication between the two militaries is in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples. China is willing to work with Malaysia to promote the two militaries' relationship of friendly cooperation," he said.
Hamidi said Malaysia attaches great importance to developing its friendship with China.
"Malaysia hopes to further promote military relations between the two sides and advance the comprehensive development of bilateral relations," he said.
