Japanese vice Foreign Minister Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi, who arrived in China on the evening of Aug. 28 for a visit, delivered a letter personally written by the Premier of Japan Yoshihiko Noda to the Chinese President Hu Jintao. The letter called on that the two countries should take the 40th anniversary of the normalization of the Japan-China relations as a chance to deepen their strategic mutual-benefit relations and deal with the Diaoyu Islands rationally.
From declaring in public that the Japanese government plans to “nationalize” the Diaoyu Islands to writing a letter personally to call on deal with the Diaoyu Islands issue, the Japanese Primer Yoshihiko Noda's attitude on the Diaoyu Islands issue seems to have changed sharply.
The chief editor of the JNOC News Jiang Feng, expressed his viewpoint on the issue. In his opinion, in Japan, Yoshihiko Noda is a politician who does not keep his words. The one who started the trouble is him and the one who is “putting out the fire” is also him. “But, objectively, ‘putting out the fire’ is always better than starting a trouble, because in the whole picture, China and Japan have more important things to do.”
