
JAKARTA, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Shenzhen (China)-Indonesia Economic and trade cooperation seminar opened here in Jakarta on Monday, in a bid to promote development and cooperation of trade and investment between China and Indonesia.
"The cooperation of economy and trade between (China's) Shenzhen and Indonesia has made significant progress in recent years," Xu Qing, the Mayor of Shenzhen, said at the seminar.
According to Xu, the total trade volume between Shenzhen and Indonesia reached 3.83 billion U.S. dollars in 2011, a 29.8 percent increase from a year earlier, and the rate kept at 24.9 percent in the first half of 2012.
"The economic and trade cooperation between Shenzhen and Indonesia will be even closer when the China-ASEAN free trade area is fully launched,"the mayor added.
Rizal Affandi, Indonesia's deputy minister for international economic and financial cooperation said China is Indonesia's important partner and the two countries have a lot in common.
"The Indonesia government commits itself to the policy of foreign capital attraction and fully support any kinds of legal foreign investments to the country," the minister stressed, "I hopemore and more Shenzhen investors could come to invest in Indonesia,"he added.
The seminar was organized by Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and attended by nearly 100 entrepreneurs from Shenzhen and Indonesia.
