BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- China will host a special conference of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), according to the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The conference will run under the theme, "Promote green development and build a beautiful Asia together," and be held in Xi'an, capital city of northwestern China's Shaanxi Province. Representatives from about 50 political parties from Asian countries are expected to attend the event.

The special conference will provide a platform for Asian political parties to exchange ideas and discuss the best practices in the field of sustainable development, according to the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The ICAPP is a forum of political parties of Asian and Oceanic countries. It was initiated by Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) of the Philippines in September 2000.

The CPC hosted the organization's general assembly in 2004 in Beijing, as well as two special conferences in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
