HARBIN, Sept. 19 -- Chinese and Russian police held a joint drill at a Chinese land port on Thursday to practice countering illegal border-crossing.
The drill was aimed at boosting mutual law enforcement cooperation along the borders, according to the Border Control Department of China's Ministry of Public Security.
Border control authorities from Russia's Federal Security Service said the drill, part of the three-month China-Russia joint border defense maneuvers that were initiated in early July, was a full success.
During the joint maneuvers, the two nations' border control authorities have consolidated cooperation in crackdowns on smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal immigration to ensure border safety and stability, according to the ministry.
