UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 23 -- China and Africa should work hand in hand to fulfill their dreams, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here Monday.
China and Africa have always been "a community of destiny," Wang said in the third round of political consultations between Chinese and African foreign ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
China's development is inseparable from Africa, and Africa's development needs China as well, added the Chinese minister.
The 1.3 billion Chinese people are working hard for the rejuvenation of the nation, he said, adding that to realize the Chinese dream, China needs the hard work of its people as well as understanding and support from the whole world.
Since the beginning of the new century, Africa has recast itself from the "forgotten" continent into a land of hope and development, where its 1 billion people are dedicated to the African dream of gaining strength through unity and achieving revitalization through development, he said.
China, he said, has been and will always be a reliable friend and sincere partner of Africa, and stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Africa and work together to fulfill their dreams.
The two sides should also join hands to improve the well-being of their peoples and at the same time make more contributions to the world dream of lasting peace and common prosperity, he added.
