United Nations, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met here with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday.
During their talks, Wang said China and Bangladesh have been good neighbors for a long time, and added there are no problems between the two countries: only trust, friendship and cooperation.
Lauding Bangladesh's firm support on issues concerning China's core interests, such as Taiwan, Xinjiang and Tibet, the Chinese foreign minister said the new Chinese leadership attaches great importance to further developing its relations with Bangladesh,
He said China is ready to work with Bangladesh to strengthen high-level exchanges and deepen pragmatic cooperation.
He urged the two countries to accelerate the construction of the economic corridor linking China, Bangladesh, India, and Myanmar, thus boosting bilateral ties.
Hasina said that developing friendship with China is a national consensus in Bangladesh, and that her country appreciates China's great help to its economic and social development.
Bangladesh will adhere to its friendship with China and its one-China policy, she said.
She also pledged to deepen pragmatic cooperation with China and quicken the pace of constructing the economic corridor.
