Zhu Guangya
Chinese physical scientist Zhu Guangya is an academician of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE).
Born in Yichang, central China's Hubei Province, in 1924, he made great contributions to China's breakthrough in atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb technological research. He participated in organizing all atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb experiments in China, construction of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant, research on the application and development of radioactive isotope, and making and the implementation of China's high-tech research and development program.
He went to study in the United States in the late 1940s and obtained a doctorate in physics from the University of Michigan.
