China Mainland Journalists to Cover Taiwan Quake-Stricken Areas

Four journalists from the mainland media will leave for Taiwan on November 10 for a ten-day reporting trip focusing on earthquake relief and reconstruction efforts on the island province, Xinhua has learned.

All of the journalists are currently based in Hong Kong. Their coverage is expected to detail the island's relief efforts and illustrate how the quake-hit people are coping with the natural disaster and its aftermath.

The journalists are Chen Dongjian from China National Radio, Wang Peng from China Radio International, and Gao Liping and Gao Lingyun from China Central Television.

The four applied to the Taiwan authorities to cover the tragedy on September 21, the day of the massive quake. They were granted permission for entry 50 days later.
