China Memorial Held to Mark Sun Yat-sen Anniversary

The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a memorial service on November 12 to mark the 133rd anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the great forerunner of China's 1911 Revolution which saw the collapse of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911).

Nearly 100 people attended the ceremony at the Sun Yat-sen Hall in the Sun Yat-sen Park, known as Zhongshan Park, next to the Palace Museum.

Wang Guangying, a vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, China's highest legislative body, and eight vice chairmen of the CPPCC National Committee -- Lu Jiaxi, Ren Jianxin, Chen Junsheng, Zhang Siqing, Sun Fuling, Wan Guoquan, Jing Shuping and Zhang Kehui-- attended the memorial service.
