African Art Show In Shanghai

The African Art Exhibition, a major part of the Shanghai International Art Festival, has attracted an increasing number of visitors from all over China.

The exhibition, which opened on November 12, features 180 African woodcarvings, bronze sculptures and oil paintings.

An official with China's Ministry of Culture said that the art works were all created by outstanding artists from eight African countries, including Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Mozambique, and Kenya.

The show has provided an excellent opportunity for the Chinese people to appreciate African art, the official said.

All the art works on exhibit will end up in the China Art Gallery Collection after the show ends on November 23.
