Sci-Tech Chinese Periodicals Urged To Go Global

An international seminar was held recently in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, to encourage more Chinese science and technology periodicals to become listed globally in world-recognized index systems.

Attending the seminar were editors-in-chief of some 300 of China's science and technology magazines and a group of foreign experts from globally authoritative document-searching organizations, such as the US's SCI, and Engineering Index.

China now has about 5,000 science and technology periodicals, but less than 500 of them are listed in overseas index systems. (Xinhua)
