Northeast China's First Test-Tube Triplets

Test-tube triplet were born at 11:20 a.m. on December 20 at a hospital in Shenyang, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, the first such multiple births in northeast China.

The triplet infants, two boys and a girl, and the mother are now in good condition and receiving the best nursing care possible at a hospital affiliated with the Chinese Medical Sciences

University.

The mother of the triplets had been infertile four years after marriage, but successfully became pregnant after the use of the test-tube method.

The girl weighed 1,940 grams and was 41 cm long at birth. The boys weighed 1,940 grams and 2,350 grams, and were 44 cm and 43 cm long, respectively.

Since China's first test-tube baby was born 10 years ago, some such multiple births have been reported in Beijing, Chongqing and other areas.
