Hong Kong Post issued "The New Millennium " special stamps. The stamp designs, which come from winning entries in the " Youth Stamp Design Contest for Millennium Stamps" held in 1998, show young people's vision of the new millennium.

The designs of the four stamps respectively symbolize the younger generation's yearning for a friendlier environment and world peace, dreams for the future as well as their curiosity with regard to outer-space.

The four stamps blend to form a dynamic and lively "2000" character, symbolizing the dawn of a new millennium.
