Education China to Enhance Students' Ecological Awareness

A sense of environmental consciousness is being instilled in today's students.Educational authorities nationwide and the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) have already provided the material to assist teachers in cultivating and increasing students' sense of environmental protection," said Lin Youbin, an official with the SEPA Information and Education Division.

He acknowledged that the SEPA and the Education Ministry have recently published a series of textbooks concerning the environment, which will be used in some regions of the nation this autumn.

"We are short of teaching staff who have received environment training, though many teachers are advocates of environmental protection," said Lin.
