Beijing to Host Amateur Tennis Tournament

The Third Great Wall Card Cup International Amateur Tennis Tournament will kick off in Beijing on March 3.

The tournament, aiming at promoting amateur tennis in China, is sponsored by the Chinese Tennis Association, the Retail Banking Department of the Bank of China, Beijing Olive Development Co., and Beijing Chaoyang Tennis Association,.

This is the first stop for the competition, with the rest to be held in Shenzhen in May, Chengdu in mid June and Inner Mongolia in July. The grand final will be held in Beijing in October.

Chinese citizens and foreigners working in Beijing are eligible for the competition. The Washington Club, formed by the ambassadors of the United States and Australia, make up the foreign team. Beijing municipal government officials, officials of the Chaoyang District and figures from the financial sector and enterprises represent the Chinese side.
