FM Spokesman on Sino-African Ministerial-Level Meeting

China has invited ministers of most African countries to attend a ministerial-level meeting on Sino-African cooperation.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Sun Yuxi made the remark at a regular press conference in Beijing March 28, when asked about the ministerial-level meeting on Sino-African cooperation to be held in October this year.

Sun said that the meeting will be hosted by China at the turn of the century, aiming to strengthen the friendly cooperation between China and the developing countries, especially the African countries.

"We have sent the invitations to the foreign and economic ministers of the vast majority of the African countries, most of which have established diplomatic relations with China," he said.
