Most people from Taiwan businesses reach the consensus that the policy of "overcoming impetuosity and exercising patience" obstinately adhered to by Taiwan authorities has not only undermined cross-Straits relations but has also tied Taiwan's hands and feet. They point it out that heavy losses have been brought by the policy at the cost of business and market opportunities on the Chinese mainland.

Meanwhile, enhanced management thereby a raise of efficiency will be achieved by Taiwan enterprises.

President of Taiwan Association of Medium- and Small-sized Enterprises Dai Shengdai said that Taiwan's market can in no way acquire vigor and a lively look when Taiwan authorities should still refuse to develop direct links with the Chinese mainland.
