Construction on China's First Solely Foreign-Funded Hydropower

Station Plans are in place to start builing China's first solely foreign-funded hydropower station on the upper reaches of the Yellow River.

The Zhiganglaka Hydropower Station is being built at the juncture of Jianzha and Hualong counties in Qinghai. All the financing for the project is from the United States based Aes TB Power Company Limited.

The station, which is costing about one point three billion yuan, or one hundred and fifty million U.S. dollars, will have a generating capacity of over one hundred and ninety thousand kilowatts. It'll be the largest foreign-funded project in Qinghai Province and is expected to be completed in three and a half years.
