More than 800 auto manufacturers from 22 countries and regions have expressed their willingness to participate in the sixth Beijing International Auto Industry Exposition to be held from June 6 to 12.

Twenty-three world famous auto-manufacturers such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, General Motors, Ford, Citroen, Toyota, Honda and Volvo have applied for exhibition, according to a report in the latest issue of Beijing Review.

Apart from more than 300 overseas enterprises, five state-level delegations from Italy, Germany, the United States, France and the Republic of Korea will display their latest models and products at the exposition, so as to earn a bigger market share in China.

The exposition has been held biannually in Beijing since 1990 and it has grown into one of the largest special exhibitions held in China.

During the seven-day exposition, other activities, including an international seminar on the global and Chinese auto industry in the 21st century, an auto photograph competition, a national competition of auto designs by youth and children and a national competition of auto paintings by children, will be staged to add cultural charm to the industrial exhibition.

Chinese enterprises, including Shanghai-GM, Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW, Guangzhou Hongda, Citreon-Fukang and other complete automobile manufacturers from Shenyang and Fujian are also to be present at the exposition.
