Corrupt Official Deprived of Delegacy to Legislature

Cheng Kejie, a Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the ninth National People's Congress (NPC), has been stripped of his position as delegate to the NPC by the standing committee of the regional people's congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The decision was made in Nanning April 21 at the 17th meeting of the standing committee of the regional people's congress.

Cheng, a former governor of Guangxi, has been charged with abuse of power, accepting enormous amounts of bribes and seeking for illegal interests.
